Janice Anderson Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is in honor of our past President Janice Anderson who had a passion for the personal welfare of children who were blind or visually impaired.

• Name of scholarship: Janice Anderson Memorial Scholarship.
• Scholarship amount: $500.00.
• How many will be awarded: High School Senior one (1) female and one (1) male.
• Qualifications: visually impaired graduating high school Senior in the State of Nebraska
• Scholarship to be used towards: This scholarship is to be used for personal grooming, such as clothing, shoes, make-up, hair cuts and styles, and other such items that can enhance your physical appearance.

APPLICATION PROCESS

• Date to be posted: February 1.
• Application deadline: May 1.
• Date to be awarded: May 30.

Method of application:

Please write a narrative letter explaining your plans after graduating from high school, how you intend to use this scholarship, your testimony as a person with a visual impairment and the challenges you have overcome, and list some of your favorites (such as hobbies, activities, sports, volunteering…).

Please include the following in your letter of request for this scholarship:

• Your name.
• High school and date of graduation.
• Your home address and phone number.
• Type of visual impairment.
• Use of scholarship.
